Nakina, NC – On August 21, 2018, at approximately 7:00 pm, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 904 East in Nakina in reference to someone passed out inside of a car. The car was parked in a private driveway, West of Bill Long Road, facing traffic. The driver, Lindsay Danielle Honeycutt, was passed out, slumped over the steering wheel. A passerby observed Honeycutt in the vehicle and contacted 911 for assistance. When deputies responded to the location, they observed Honeycutt passed out with marijuana in plain sight inside of the vehicle. Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit responded to assist. A vehicle search was completed. Vice-Narcotics Detectives located cocaine and Alprazolam concealed inside of the vehicle. Alprazolam is more commonly known by its trade name of Xanax. Vice-Narcotics Detectives seized the illegal narcotics and the vehicle.
Honeycutt was arrested and charged for the narcotics. She was processed at the Columbus County Detention Center where she is currently held on a $100,000.00 secured bond.

- 1 felony count of Possession with the Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana
- 1 felony count of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (CS)
- 1 felony count of Possession with the Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule IV CS
- 1 felony count of Maintaining a Vehicle to Keep a Controlled Substance
