GREENVILLE, NC-Trillium Health Resources looks forward to adding Columbus County residents to the Trillium catchment area, effective July 1. Trillium is working with Columbus County throughout the realignment process to ensure services and operations are prepared for a smooth transition. The State approved Trillium’s detailed work plan, we are holding scheduled meetings with Columbus County and State offices, and we are sharing information with members and the public to ensure a seamless move.
On May 15, Trillium hosted a provider fair in Whiteville at Southeastern Community College. The fair was open to all providers currently contracted with Eastpointe and serving Columbus County residents. Providers were able to bring the necessary paperwork, ask any questions, and meet Trillium staff.
Trillium is mailing letters in May to more than 13,000 Medicaid-eligible residents in the county. The letter will introduce the Trillium name, shares resources to contact with any questions, and announces upcoming listening and information sessions in June.
The information and listening sessions (schedule at the end of release) will be a valuable way for the community to share needs related to mental health, addictions, and supports for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities and learn more about Trillium’s organization and structure. We hope residents will attend to help Trillium fill these needs. We have selected eight sites around the county to allow as many as possible to attend.
Behind the scenes, our staff are already learning how Trillium can better serve people in Columbus County. We will bring new programs to the county including:
- school-based mental health services,
- the Columbus County Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Center, offering outpatient therapy, psychiatric services, and community-based services,
- Child First for children ages 0-5 with their caregivers who experience depression, problems with drugs or alcohol, or issues with developmental milestones,
- summer day camp for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities,
- assistance for adults with drug or alcohol addictions, and
- wellness outreach that teaches skills to manage mental health and addiction.
Trillium will also tailor some existing services through providers currently in the area.
Trillium’s website has pages dedicated to the Columbus County realignment with sections personalized for members and providers. In addition, we will use a unique email address for any inquiries: Columbus@TrilliumNC.org. We hope to alleviate any concerns members may have about this change and proactively publish information.
We hope you will help us promote these endeavors for the residents of Columbus County. We will share opportunities soon for interviews, photographs, and event coverage.
Listening Sessions: Anyone may attend to make public comments, share their comments directly with Trillium staff, or write their comments privately. There will not be any formal presentations at these events.
