Chadbourn, NC – The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit completed an investigation into the distribution of Controlled Substances throughout the Chadbourn community of Columbus County.
During the investigation, it was determined by Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Agents, that Barbara Denise Crawford was responsible for distributing Controlled Substances affecting the communities of Chadbourn, Beaverdam, and Clarendon in Columbus County.
This investigation originated from information and citizen complaints which prompted Agents to the area of 1123 Dessie Road in Chadbourn, NC. Agents conducted undercover purchases from the defendant in this investigation where numerous amounts of Cocaine were purchased. At the conclusion of the investigation, on July 9, 2018, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division conducted a warrant service for the individual responsible for the offenses. The defendant in this investigation was arrested and processed at the Columbus County Detention Center and incarcerated.
The defendant in this investigation was previously charged with narcotics offenses by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division dating back to 2014. Crawford has had numerous charges over the years for narcotics trafficking and sells offenses involving Cocaine, Marijuana, and Prescription Medications and has been the focus and person of interest in several narcotics investigations since 2007 for which charges were filed in the past.
