Home invasion in Cerro Gordo

Cerro Gordo, NC – On August 18, 2018, at approximately 2:11 am, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) responded to 3478 Cherry Grove Road in Cerro Gordo in reference to a home invasion.  The victims, Sebastian Pedro Andres along with a juvenile, reported that four males and one female forced entry into the residence and held the victims at gunpoint and demanded money.  The victims reported that various articles of clothing and a wallet were taken from the residence during the incident. 

Columbus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) immediately initiated an investigation into the above reported incident.  As a result of the investigation, CCSO Investigators discovered inconsistencies in the witness’ statements.  At the conclusion of the investigation, Investigators discovered that there were only two subjects involved in the home invasion, not five, as originally report.  Crystal Gail Corbett and Kason Durante Johnson were arrested today and processed at Columbus County Detention Center, where they are both currently incarcerated.

• 2 felony counts of Burglary
• 2 felony counts of Kidnapping
