The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville and the Columbus County Arts Council have partnered to bring you “Movies on Madison: Summer Cinema Series.” This month’s film, Disneys’ “Moana,” will be shown Friday, May 26, at dusk. From Walt Disney Animation Studios, this is the 56th Disney animated feature film takes viewers on an adventure about a spirited teenager, a young princess Moana Waialiki (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.
Bring a blanket or chair. Museum lawn opens at 8:00 p.m., movie starts at dusk. This free, 113-minute film is rated PG. This is a family-friendly event: no pets, coolers, alcohol or smoking permitted. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
