Bring a pair of binoculars, a camera and a lot of excitement as we explore the natural beauty of our area through citizen science and exploratory activities. This month’s exploration will be at the Columbus County Wildlife Action Headquarters, Helms Preserve (543 Sunset Terrace, Whiteville.) We’ll be learning about ponds and why they are important habitats. Using dip nets, field guides, and other supplies we will explore the variety of plants, insects, and animals that call ponds home!
Meet at the parking lot at the head of the trail. For more information contact Meredith Morgan at 910-914-4185 or Meredith.firstname.lastname@example.org. In case of inclement weather call the museum for possible cancellations. Nature explorations is recommended for ages 8 and up, but all ages are welcome.
