Clarkton man arrested for growing marijuana indoors

On Monday, April 16, 2018 Narcotics Agents with the Bladen/Columbus County Narcotics Taskforce executed a search at 9329 Mercer Mill Road, Clarkton NC after citizen complaints of an indoor marijuana grow operation. Pursuant to the search, Andrew James Ellis, 37, of Clarkton was arrested and charged with the following criminal offenses:

 

Bladen County Sheriff’s Office charged Ellis with:

  • Felony possession of marijuana
  • Manufacture marijuana
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana
  • Maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping/selling marijuana

Columbus County Sheriff’s Office charged Ellis with:

  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana
  • Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver Schedule II CS

Ellis was arrested in Columbus County and taken to the Columbus County Detention Center and is currently being held under a $30,000.00 secured bond.
